Default fonts available on the iPhone

By:
As I work on the new iPhone app, I'm adding a few labels to a view and needed to set the font. While the list of all the fonts installed in OSX is available from the Fonts drop-down within Xcode, these don't necessarily represent the fonts that are available on the iPhone device.

By installing the "Fonts" application (free), you can see the list of all the fonts that are currently installed on your iPhone.

Currently there isn't an iPhone SDK approved way of adding more fonts to the device that I know of, but this thread discusses some potential options.

The fonts I currently have installed on my iPhone include:
  • American Typewriter
  • AppleGothic
  • Arial
  • Arial Rounded MT Bold
  • Arial Unicode MS
  • Courier
  • Courier New
  • DB LCD TEmp
  • Georgia
  • Helvetica
  • Helvetica Neue
  • Hiragino Kaku Gothic ProN
  • Marker Felt
  • STHeiti J
  • STHeiti K
  • STHeiti SC
  • STHeiti TC
  • Times New Roman
  • Trebuchet MS
  • Verdana
  • Zapfino
